Mike is a Principal Scientific Associate in the Miller lab.
He obtained his Ph.D. in 2000 at the University of Cambridge, after which he moved to the laboratory of Dr Joyce Fingeroth at Harvard University, and then returned to the University of Cambridge in 2005 to take a position in the Division of Virology, Department of Pathology. Mike joined the CRUK-CI in 2015.
The focus of his current research is to understand the molecular mechanisms governing the interaction of pancreatic tumours cells with non-tumour cells present with the tumour microenvironment (e.g. macrophages and fibroblasts) using multi-omics platforms and by development of a new protein barcoding technology. His goal is to reveal pathways which enable communication within the tumour microenvironment and identify novel therapeutics for the treatment of Pancreatic cancer.
