Raising awareness and fundraising on World Pancreatic Cancer Day 2021

To kick off World Pancreatic Cancer Day, a panel of our experts in pancreatic cancer participated in a webinar (Ask me anything about pancreatic cancer). You can read more about this here.

Later, members of the programme spent several hours at Asda at the Beehive Centre, Cambridge, raising awareness of pancreatic cancer and the symptoms. They handed out leaflets (and cakes) to members of the public, as well as collecting some donations which were split between the Cambridge Pancreatic Cancer Centre and Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Finally, the Biffi lab plus friends from the Winton, Carroll, Miller and Halim labs joined together for a Shine the Night walk around Cambridge. They raised nearly £1000 for three charities, split between Cancer Research UK, Pancreatic Cancer UK and Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. Giulia Biffi said “I encourage you all to get out there, support and raise awareness for what you are passionate about. The daily impact that we can have does not stop at the door.”
